    Overall

So, the results did come back with a 20% improvement on the last unixbench that was run on their systems. However, these improvements were not built arond the File Copy tests, which shows no improvement, performance wise from their SANs. It is still good news that they are now more resilient and redundant though.

For the money and performance of service, I’m still going to recommend VPS247.com. I have dealt with both support teams on a few queries since starting these tests and both resolved the issues within the hour, but both had their minor points, but that could be a little bit of me being. Take a look at VPS247.com (See their results).

    Overall

VPS.NET were the first on the market with the Cloud features and built on XEN and ON-APP. I believe this is a similar infrastructure to that of VPS247.com as I got the exact same errors at the exact same point on VPS creation. Both on the same day of updates. The VPS.NET control panel is the best I have seen to date, very clear and feature rich. The price puts it into the realms of business users expecting to pay more for a better service. (Not always true!)

I’m sorry to say the results aren’t good. The limiting of CPU resources so much has strangled the possibilities on Unixbench, and the FileCopy Tests show a poor I/O & HDD Speeds. I’m guessing their SAN’s are slightly more loaded that is essential, or just not quite quick enough.

The same can be said for the HTTP download. It’s not the slowest we’ve seen on these tests, but its certainly close. So, worth the money? No, go elsewhere. For a Xen Paravirtualization system with a similar setup, look at VPS247.com (See their results).

This equates to 48mbit per second of bandwidth throughput.

    Overall

I was very happy to see access to all four cores of the CPU, which greatly helps the Unixbench performance on the Multi-CPU test. Although it’s not the strongest performance we’ve had on a Single CPU test it is the best Benchmark when weighed against value for money.

However, the big issue was network speed. I was very shocked to only get 5.96MB/s on the download, some 6 times slower than the likes of Switchlink and VPS247 tested earlier.

    Overall

VPS247.com are new to the Virtual Server market, however VPS247 is part of the M247 group which is no stranger to hosting with brands such as Icecolo, UK Game and Openhosting. So I was somewhat looking forward to testing their VPS product, hoping for a good showing following the investment and the public Beta testing.

Unfortunately, it was not meant to be. The Unixbench score is rather poor in comparison to other results we have on the site. It isn’t a particular test that fails them, its generally a low performance across the board.

I was happy to see that their download speeds showed a better than performance.
