  • Switchlink officially launch it’s Hosted Sage solutions

    Switchlink, for several years has been one of the UK’s fastest growing Virtual Server providers and now, coupled with its manages services team, Switchlink have publically launched their Hosted Sage services.

    Unlike their Switchlink Unmanaged solutions, HostedSage.co.uk will specialize in provisioning and manages Private Cloud solutions for Small, Medium and Large enterprises across Europe.

    Built on our own private wholly owned infrastructure, HostedSage.co.uk will provide the finest level of support and services on a business to business relationship.

     

  • Damn VPS / Thrust VPS servers are exploited

    Here’s the release from Damn VPS.

    Due to a recently discovered kernel exploit in x86_64 kernels that allows people to gain route access we are going to begin a series of emergency kernel upgrades today across all of our VPS nodes.

    We are doing reboots at the following times

    7am All UK Nodes

    9am All East Coast nodes

    10am All Texas Nodes

    11am All West Coast Nodes

    Whilst we appreciate the short notice we do hope you understand that this is important to protect your data and your VPS. Once the reboots of the host machine are complete we will be sending another email to Xen PV customers about upgrading the kernel on their VPS nodes

     

  • VPS.NET upgrade their SANs

    On Saturday, VPS.NET announced to major updated to their systems.

    Firstly, they now run a fault tolerant failover SAN infrastructure in three of their DC locations. These are reported to be running in an active-active scenario. We’ll benchmark these shortly.

    Additionally, VPS.NET have also announced Windows support available from $7.50 per month in addition to your node cost.

     

  • Thurst::VPS / Damn::VPS Scheduled Downtime of 8 Hours

    This email is being sent to all clients about downtime in our UK DC on Saturday 2nd October 2010 between 00:00 and 08:00 AM GMT. This email will be resent nearer the time as well.

    - Our upstream will be enacting procedures for a controlled power outage to our UK location during 00:00 and 08:00 AM GMT. We expect UK based dedicated servers and VPS to be powered down for between 4-8 hours. A link to the upstream announcement can be found at the end of this email.

    - During this time the following customer facing services will be unavailable

    Support System via email and ticket
    Billing System via email and ticket
    SolusVM
    All UK Based Dedicated and VPS
    Our main website

    All US based VPS will be active and accessible
